Oggetti d'Autore: Omaggio a Morandi

principale

A tribute, a reinterpretation, an open dialogue between art, history and design. Paolo Castelli signs for Istituzione Bologna Musei the capsule collection Oggetti d’Autore: Omaggio a Morandi, where furniture and accessories are dressed in art, color, and creativity. A poetic journey that combines interior decoration and creative reinterpretation, capturing the silent charm of the Maestro’s home-studio.

The collaboration between Paolo Castelli and the Istituzione Bologna Musei began in 2009, when Castelli participated in the work on the occasion of the refurbishment of Casa Morandi, curated by Bolognese architect Massimo Iosa Ghini. Located at 36 Via Fondazza, this home hosted Morandi from 1910 to 1964, becoming the space in which the artist observed and interpreted the world. The capsule immerses itself in this intimacy, reinterpreting it with a contemporary vision.

Each object is a window into Morandi’s world: from the pure, minimalist forms to the chromatic elements that capture the visual poetry of his paintings. The details recall those simple objects, loved and studied by Morandi in his studio, the silent protagonists that the artist elevated to a symbol of his research.

One of the most emblematic examples is the Piatti d’Autore series, in which brushstrokes inspired by the works of Morandi decorate ceramics, creating a bridge between craftsmanship and art.

Each accessory and piece of furniture has a strong artistic value: it is an invitation to take home a fragment of the poetic beauty that the Master observed with dedication.

“These objects,” explains Paolo Castelli, “were created after my visit to Casa Morandi, where I was overwhelmed by an unusual emotion. The objects created are a 3D of his life; I hope they will be welcomed into homes as traces that can bring people closer to his works.”
