CORPORATE
Located just a stone’s throw from Bologna, the headquarters of FAAC, a leading manufacturer of door and window frames and automatic gates, recently benefited from a major renovation that revitalized the offices of the headquarters. The project, conceived by the engineering firm Open Project, respected the existing structure, creating a more open and luminous space, in which the interior spaces interact harmoniously with the adjoining courtyards and the surrounding context. Paolo Castelli S.p.A. took care of the flooring, plant engineering and lighting works, as well as the supply of custom-made furniture, serial furnishings, glass walls and equipped workstations.
The space is presented as an industrial setting, characterized by wide ceilings and generous volumes. Neutral flooring highlights the colors of the furnishings, while high white walls contribute to the bright atmosphere. The ceilings, also white, house exposed fixtures painted in the room’s predominant tones of black and white. The large lobby is divided into a series of reception areas, with small lounges equipped with minimalist and modern design seating, lamps and colorful coffee tables. Each small lounge features a distinct color and type of seating, making it easy to identify the different conversation areas. In the center, a large corten planter houses a living tree, around which other seating is arranged to welcome visitors and employees.
Continuing inside the building, one enters the office area, consisting of a series of cubicles made with glass partitions and matte black metal fixtures, which house open spaces with equipped workstations. Inside the cubicles, the flooring is transformed into industrial oak parquet, accompanied by white desks and walls. Acoustic comfort is provided by sound-absorbing ceiling panels. Meeting rooms, also bordered by glass walls, feature sound-absorbing PVC flooring and large white laminate tables. The glazed rooms overlook an inner courtyard that accommodates the large tree, around which is a wooden platform, equipped with small tables and red metal outdoor seating.
Paolo Castelli S.p.A.’s intervention also included a small winter garden, located between the different meeting rooms, created by breaking through the ceiling. This green space allows light to filter into the interior of the building. Decorative lighting is minimalist, with pendant and table lamps of modern design, differentiated by type in the various lounge settings.
