Seventy new check-in desks were built in corian and aluminum. Their original design solves specific functional and aesthetic needs of the context, making for pleasant passage through the area and easing boarding operations. The layout of the counters keeps the front office area separate from the back office without creating distance between operators and customers; all electronic devices and monitors are perfectly encapsulated in the counters’ structure. A great deal of attention was dedicated to facilitating disabled persons with a retractable console that allows anyone to perform their check-in operations safely and easily.
Challenge: In a very short time, we were challenged to design an original type of check-in counter that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly usable, incorporating into it technology which is accessible to everyone.
