La Petite Afrique, Montecarlo

Fine Properties Monte Carlo is a real estate group owned also by Casiraghi family, which promoted in 2011 a contest on invitation for the construction of a prestigious multifunctional building on the plot previously occupied by Banca Commerciale Italiana, after demolishing its headquarter. At the contest took part the most well-known design studio worldwide (Ateliers Jean Nouvel, Shigeru Ban Architects, Kengo Kuma Architects and Adjaye Associates).

The winner was the proposal of Brasilian architect Isay Weinfeld, a label of success in the filed of luxury architecture. Weinfeld uses a minimalist language which highlights the beauty of materials, creates an introvert and almost shy sophistication, which amplifies the real meaning of elegance. In the boarders of Carre d’Or, Paolo Castelli S.p.A. realised different areas inside the exclusive residential building “La Petite Afrique”. The intervention is 15.000 sqm wide, near the Jardins du Casino, the Hôtel de Paris and the Salle Garnier. The building has 11 floors above ground hosting prestigious apartments, and 6 underground, where except for the car parks there are the communal areas and the SPA centre.

Paolo Castelli supplied custom made doors, boiserie, standard and tailor-made furniture, parquet and ceilings for the apartments from floor r+2 till floor r+10, SPA, lobby, staircase and elevators. The apartment al floor r+6 was supplied turn key on Brodway Myland design. High custom made interior and fit our solutions for limited edition dwellings, realised thanks to the Italian handcraft. Inspiration, research, tailor-made and ageless design: these are the four cornerstones of the new identity sewed by Paolo Castelli for new multi-purpose Monegasque centre. The most used materials are natural oak and wood lacquered on sample for the communal parts and standard apartments, while the prestigious 6th floor is entirely realised in high polished Amara ebony.

At top floor an outdoor swimming pool overlooks the Monegasque landscape.
