“Kitchen & Invaders” Exhibition”, Triennale Milan

Curated by Germano Celant, the eighth edition of the Triennale Design Museum propose the “Kitchens & Invaders” exhibition. A magical landscape, an amazing world brought to life by Italo Rota for which PAOLO CASTELLI S.p.A. had realized the entire internal fit out.

For this edition, that coincides with Expo Milano 2015, the TDM proposes the theme of food from a different point of view. This exhibition takes its inspiration from the title of the science-fiction novel “The Body Snatchers” and tells the slow and gradual transformation of the kitchen utensils into machines and robots.

An army of “invaders” – from refrigerators to microwave ovens, coffee makers to toasters, waste disposal units and ductless hoods to kettles and blenders, deep fryers and ice-cream makers – that with the advent of ‘industrialization has replaced many human’s activities in the kitchen. This universe of body snatchers recall the transition from manual to technology showing in many ways the relationship between human beings and machines.

As part of ” Kitchen & Invaders”, Gaetano Pesce has created the “The Kitchen. Place of passion” installation.
