Boutique Delvaux, Milan

The Belgian leather haute maison Delvaux opened in Milan a new shop – the very first in Italy – experimenting new furniture solutions by keeping the elegance and the style of the brand.

Milan studio Vudafieri-Saverino partners signed the project, realising a concept which respects history and culture of Milan. The location is extraordinary: Palazzo Reina, in via Bagutta – in the heart of design district – prestigious XX century court recently renewed.

Paolo Castelli S.p.A. supplied freestanding and wall furniture – everything custom made – the wall covering in marble and the boxes for the lighting fixtures.

The refined spaces celebrate Flemish distinctive elements and Made in Italy design. The most remarkable piece is the sinuous wardrobe in ebony Makassar, which recalls the tradition of Delvaux boutiques, usually made in white plaster.

The third room – characterised by an extended mosaic of the 70es by Charles Gianferrai – is overlooked by a bookshelf more than 5m high, recalling an iconic building of the 60es designed by Luigi Caccia Dominioni, placed in Piazza Carbonari in Milan. In the bookshelf are displayed the Delvaux accessories, together with a precious collection of ceramics of XX century made in Gant.

The main atmosphere is created by clear tones of Calacatta marble, contrasting with dark details in ebony makassar of the large wall wardrobe, which embraces the refined space of the brand. ffff
